Öğe A Comparison of the Short-Term Efficacy of Physiotherapy Approaches in Patients with Lateral Epicondylitis(2022) ÇAKIR, Şahin; Tuncer, Aysenur; Arpacı, Muhammed; DENIZ, Mine ARGALIThe study aimed to investigate the short-term effects of radial nerve self-mobilization [RNSM], manual therapy [MT], and extracorporeal shock wave therapy [ESWT] on pain, pain-free grip strength, functional status, and patient satisfaction in patients with Lateral Epicondylitis [LE] and to determine the superiority of these methods to each other. 48 patients diagnosed with LE were included in the study and were randomly divided into three groups. RNSM was applied to all patients as a home program. The first group [n=16] received only the RNSM as a home program, the MT group [n=16] received MT combined with RNSM, and the ESWT group [n=16] received ESWT combined with RNSM. The RNSM was applied five days per week, and the MT and ESWT for two sessions per week for three weeks. Pain severity, pain-free handgrip strength, functionality levels, and patient satisfaction were evaluated before and after three weeks of treatment. The pain level significantly decreased, and handgrip strength and functionality increased in all groups after three weeks [p<0.001]. In comparison between the groups, the decrease in pain level, the increase in maximum grip strength, and patients' overall satisfaction scores were found to be higher in the MT group than in the ESWT, and only the RNSM groups [p<0.05]. MT application combined with radial nerve self-mobilization exercises in the treatment of LE appears to be more effective.Öğe Comparison of online, face-to-face and video-based teaching methods in anatomy education of medical faculty students(2023) Arpacı, Muhammed; Uzun, Gökçe Bağcı; DENIZ, Mine ARGALI; PEKMEZ, HIDIRThere are many opinions on the effectiveness of the methods used in anatomy education. The aim of the study is to determine the superiority of online, video- based, and face-to-face education methods over each other. A total of 80 students, 41 female, and 39 male, participated at Malatya Turgut Özal University Faculty of Medicine to study. A questionnaire consisting of 20 questions, seven questions questioning demographic information and internet activity, and 13 queries about anatomy education was applied by online submission. The students consider that video-recorded education is effective in terms of time management with %75, three-dimensional digital resources are effective with 47.5%, more concentrated in face-to-face education than online education with 48.8%, face-to-face education is sufficient in professionality in medical applications with 58.8%. The students stated that both face-to-face and video-recorded education were effective at a high rate, with 73.8%. In addition, anatomy lectures should be based on theory and practice, and face-to-face&video-recorded education to be together with practical education 70%. The correlation results demonstrate that the benefit of teaching method, concentration, and benefit on professionality have the highest level of correlation with other educational landmarks. Face to face method is effective in concentration and community, and the video-recorded education method is effective in time management in anatomy education. Therefore both face-to-face and video-based education called the hybrid education method, is effective in anatomy education.Öğe Evaluation of post-earthquake fractures according to anatomical body parts: A retrospective study(2024) Arpacı, Muhammed; TAŞ, FERHAT; Uzun, Gökçe Bağcı; Akçiçek, Mehmet; İnceoğlu, Feyza; DENIZ, Mine ARGALI; DEMİREL, EMREBone fractures that occur in earthquakes threaten human life. The study aims to localize the fractures in earthquake victims according to anatomical regions in the earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş 2023. The study included 137 patients aged between 1-90 years diagnosed with fractures by an orthopedic physician. Radiographs were taken of patients admitted to the emergency department after the earthquake. The fractures diagnosed patients were evaluated and classified in anatomical regions and fracture type. The fractures were observed in females with high rates of fragmented (49.6%) and s ingle fractures (75.9%). The fractures also occurred on the right side (58.4%), in the upper extremities (37.2%) and long bones (38.7%). In the specific anatomic region evaluation of fractures; high rates were observed in manus (19%), antebrachi (15.3%), crus (13.9%) and pes fractures (12.4%). In the region of the most common fragmentary fracture type (48.9%); omos (3%), brachium (1%), thorax (15%), viscerocranium (7%) and neurocranium (3%), in oblique fractures (25.5%); pes (26%), in transverse fractures (20.4%); antebrachi (21%), manus (32%) and vertebral column (4%), in spiral fractures; pelvis (14%), femur (14%) and crus (57%) region. We determined that fractures frequently occur on the right-side extremities and, besides sequentially high rates at manus, antebrachii, crus, and pes. We recommend providing information about the protection of these anatomical parts in the training given to people during the earthquake closure and post-earthquake panic times to reduce earthquake-related fractures.Öğe The Relationship of University Students' Internet Addiction Level Through Telephone Use and 2d:4d Ratio(2024) DENIZ, Mine ARGALI; çiftçi, rukiye; Arpacı, Muhammed; ŞENCAN, DEMETAim: To evaluate the relationship between the 2nd and 4th finger measurement ratio (2d:4d) ratio of university students' internet addiction level through phone use. Material and Method: 322 students were questioned about their demografic data, dominant extremity, and the device while using the internet. Hand width (HW), length (HL), grip strength (HGS), 2d:4d measurements were taken. Young Internet Addiction Scale (YIAS) was used for internet addiction, Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Form (SAS) was used for smartphone addiction. Results: In men, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of Right-Left HL, Left HGS, Right/4d, YIAS and SAS values. In addition, it was determined that the device preference, HL right, HL left, HGS left and Right/4d parameters originated from normal and dependent groups. It was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between the groups in women in terms of Left HL, Right/2d, Right/4d, Left/2d, Left/4d, Young and SAS values. It was determined that the device preference was due to individuals falling into the normal group of Left HL according to the YIAS, and the statistical difference of the Right/2d, Right/4d, Left/2d and Left/4d parameters. It was determined that there was a moderately strong negative correlation between SAS and Right/2d, Right/4d, Left/2d, Left/4d parameters in addicted men. Conclusion: The gender relations of the accepted scales regarding phone and internet addiction may be due to the length of the left hand and the movement function of the right 4d to provide control in phone use, rather than the 2d:4d finger ratios.
