Öğe Galectin-1 as a potential diagnostic biomarker in polycystic ovary syndrome(Verduci Publisher, 2023) Aladag, H.; Kiran, T. R.; Inceoglu, F.; Yildirim, E.; Yaprak, B.; Karabulut, A. B.; Aladag, M.OBJECTIVE: This study was aimed at comparing the routine laboratory pa-rameters and Galectin-1 levels of control and polycystic ovarian syndrome patients.PATIENTS AND METHODS: 88 patients di-agnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome and 88 healthy controls were considered for the study. Age groups of the patients ranged from 18 to 40. Serum TSH, Beta HCG, glucose, insulin, HO-MA-IR, Hb1A1c, triglyceride, total cholesterol, LDL FSH, LH, E2, prolactin, testosterone, SHBG, DHESO4, HDL, Gal-1 levels were analyzed for each subject.RESULTS: FSH, LH, LH/FSH, E2, prolactin, testosterone, SHBG, DHESO4, HDL and Gal -1 values of the subjects included in the study were statistically significantly different between the groups (p<0.05). Gal-1 and DHESO4 showed a strong positive connection (p=0.05). The sen-sitivity of Gal-1 level in PCOS patients was cal-culated as 0.997 and specificity as 0.716.CONCLUSIONS: High levels of Gal-1 in PCOS patients suggest that it increases due to overex-pression in response to inflammation.Öğe Psychological Effects of Earthquake on Health Professionals: Investigation of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Related Factors(Wolters Kluwer Medknow Publications, 2025) Deniz, S.; Inceoglu, F.; Koca, M.Background:Earthquake is characterized as an event that can cause trauma. Earthquake Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is expressed as a disorder that basically causes intense anxiety in the individual and seriously impairs the functioning of the individual when the individual witnesses events such as death or serious injury.Aim:This study was conducted to determine the prevalence of posttraumatic stress disorder among health professionals after the earthquake. Methods:The study was conducted on healthcare workers working at Malatya Training and Research Hospital after the February 2023 earthquakes. In the analyses conducted with SEM, the sample size is required to be 200 or more. Accordingly, 379 participants were recruited for the study. Results:The overall mean score of the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Scale was calculated as 44.48, and the mean score of the Impact of Events Scale was calculated as 49.76. Re-experiencing scores had statistically significant effects on hyper arousal (beta 1 = 0.808; P = 0.001), negative changes (beta 1 = 0.651; P = 0.001), and avoidance (beta 1 = 0.767; P = 0.001) scores. Avoidance scores had a statistically significant effect only on the negative changes score (beta 1 = 0.149; P = 0.001).Conclusion:As a result of the research, the prevalence of long-term PTSD among healthcare workers living in the earthquake zone was determined as 46.7%. This result revealed that the effects of PTSD were widely seen even approximately 1.5 years after the earthquake disaster. It has been found that the recollection of events due to sudden trauma experienced by individuals affects post-traumatic stress disorder.Öğe Vascular imbalance in polycystic ovary syndrome(Wiley, 2025) Kiran, T.
